2025 Senior Australian of the Year

Congratulations to the 2025 Senior Australian of the Year, Brother Thomas Oliver Pickett AM.
Brother Thomas Oliver, also known as Olly, co-founded Wheelchairs For Kids in 1996 to provide free wheelchairs and expert help to children in need around the world.
Over 60,000 special wheelchairs have been given to children in more than 80 countries. Hundreds of retired volunteers, many in their 70s, build these wheelchairs with another 550 people making wheelchair covers, rugs and soft toys.
Olly also designed a wheelchair that grows with the child - a world first.
We commend Olly's incredible contributions and achievements. His dedication to Wheelchairs For Kids has made an unforgettable impact, proving that age is no limit to making a difference. Read more about Olly's efforts.

Let's change aged care, together
Every Australian should feel confident about accessing high quality and safe aged care, when and where they need it.
The changes mean Older people will have greater choice and control, services that respect and meet their needs, and support to stay independent as they age.
