Aged Care Taskforce Report and Recommendations

The report by the Aged Care Taskforce has now been released. It contains 23 recommendations for the Australian Government to consider.

The Taskforce was established in June 2023 to provide expert advice to government about:

  • funding arrangements
  • options for a system that is fair and equitable
  • ways to build on the recommendations of the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety.

These recommendations aim to build an aged care system that is financially sustainable as well as one that enables older people to live well as they age.

Taskforce members consulted widely across Australia, including holding roundtables, forums and an online survey, and receiving public submissions.
