Feedback on the new Aged Care Rules

We want your feedback on the Rules for the new Aged Care Act. Consultation on the Rules is an important chance to have your say on how the new Act will work.

Your feedback will help:

  • the aged care sector better understand what these changes will mean for them
  • demonstrate how the Rules will impact older people, and the quality of care they receive
  • ensure the Rules reflect past feedback
  • make sure everyone is ready for the new Act starting from 1 July 2025.

A document showing the topics and timelines for each stage of this consultation is available on our website. It shows which Rules:

  • are new
  • are partially or mostly new
  • already exist.

The current consultation - Stage 2a - is focused on funding for the Support at Home program. You can get involved in Stage 2a until 6 December.

We will keep you updated via the Aged Care Engagement Hub as each consultation stage opens and closes. Timing of each stage may change.

See the timeline and read about the consultation.
