Good palliative care starts with a plan

People having a conversation about palliative care planning

National Palliative Care Week 2025 (11 to 17 May) is the perfect time to have a conversation about what you want for your care and what matters to you.

Palliative care helps people with a life-limiting illness to live as comfortably as possible, for as long as possible. You can receive palliative care for years, and at any stage of your illness.

Thinking ahead and making a plan for the kind of care you want -- and don't want -- can make things easier for your loved ones when the time comes.

What's your plan? Start a conversation today with your loved ones.

Let's change aged care, together

Every Australian should feel confident about accessing high quality and safe aged care, when and where they need it.

The changes mean Older people will have greater choice and control, services that respect and meet their needs, and support to stay independent as they age.

To find out more and help design the changes, visit the Get Involved page or call 1800 318 209.
