Keeping you safe in aged care
From 1 July, all government-funded aged care providers must be registered with the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission.
This new law will help protect older people by making sure only suitable providers deliver aged care services. It sets out clear rules for providers under a new regulatory model, including more protections to make sure aged care is high quality and safe for older people.
This will make it easier to see which providers are working in aged care and how they are doing. It will also improve how the Commission oversees their work.
The Commission's role is to help keep you safe and healthy in aged care. They do this by checking that aged care providers are doing their job properly.
If you have concerns about the care you are receiving, you can lodge a complaint on the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission's website.
For more information, visit the Commission's website or contact them on 1800 951 822.
