Further information

We are now inviting feedback on some of the provider obligations under the new Aged Care Act.

This is Stage 3 of our consultation on the new Aged Care Rules. It follows previous consultation on:

  • the aged care service list
  • funding arrangements under the new Aged Care Act 2024
  • the 'no worse off' principle for people already accessing aged care services.

In this stage, we're asking for feedback on provider obligations such as:

  • current obligations, like the Code of Conduct, restrictive practices, and the strengthened Quality Standards
  • new requirements, including rights and principles
  • reporting and record-keeping requirements.

We've created a supporting document to help explain the Stage 3 Rules and support you to give feedback.

Your feedback will help everyone get ready for the new Act to start from 1 July this year.

Share your feedback via our online form by 13 March.
